About the Preschool
Philosophy
The Creative Learning Campus recognizes the individuality of each child and that the intellectual and academic growth of young children is developmental. For example, children must learn to crawl before they can walk. Similarly, children must develop small muscle skills before they can write. Therefore, materials, experiences, and equipment are provided so that each child develops in proportion to his or her level of maturity.
On a daily basis your child will have the opportunity for the following: planned activities and experiences to develop large and small muscle skills, self-directed play, outdoor play (weather permitting) or use of the gym, learning centers, snack time, creative play, story time and developing relationships with teachers and peers.
Throughout the year several special events and activities are planned for the children including field trips, class parties, community visitors, a Christmas program, Sunday singing, Dad's Night and Mom's Night, our annual art show, and the four-year old graduation ceremony.
Three-Year Old Program
Morning and afternoon classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Children must be 3-years old by December 1 of the enrolling year and fully potty trained (able to pull pants up/down, wipe self, turn water on/off, wash and dry hands). Preschool classes run from September to May.
The main goal of our 3-year old program is socialization and overall enrichment in preparation for our 4-year old program. The children are also introduced to our Phonic Soup curriculum. Phonic Soup focuses on teaching letter recognition and sound awareness (i.e. "That's an /m/ and it says 'mmmmm'.")
TTh Morning Classes 9:00 - 11:30 am
TTh Afternoon Classes 12:30 - 3:00 pm
Four-Year Old Program
Morning and afternoon classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only. Children must be 4-years old by December 1 of the enrolling year and fully potty trained (able to pull pants up/down, wipe self, turn water on/off, wash and dry hands). Preschool classes run from September to May.
The 4-year old program will prepare your child for kindergarten in all of the basic skills areas. We have combined the Phonic Soup curriculum with the award-winning Handwriting Without Tears curriculum. Phonic Soup focuses on teaching letter recognition and sound awareness (i.e. "That's an /m/ and it says 'mmmmm'.") Handwriting Without Tears focuses on teaching how to correctly write numbers and the upper and lowercase letters. The children are taught using music, Wixxi Stix, dough, and wooden pieces. the children thetecachlaksdjfte

Pollywogs Program
Pollywogs was created for parents who want their children to ease gently into the routine of coming to school and being away from "mom and dad" without the pressure of regular preschool classes. It is a big transition to go from being at home, or in the care of someone familiar, to preschool classes where the people and environment are unfamiliar. Parents are welcome to stay with their child on the first day only.
Pollywogs runs Monday-Friday from 9:00 - 11:30 am during the last two weeks of August, prior to the start of school in September.
Please go to the Daycare link above for a more in-depth description of Pollywogs!
Daycare Program
Our daycare program is available to children ages 2.5- through 6-years old. All children must be fully potty trained (able to pull pants up/down, wipe self, turn water on/off, wash and dry hands). Children are not required to be enrolled in one of the preschool classes to use the daycare. Although, this program is supplementary to our 3- and 4-year old classes.
Our regular daycare program runs Monday-Friday (7 am - 5 pm) from September through May. Due to the economy, we have had to cut back on our hours of operation in the past. For the 10-11 school year, our hours are: 7:00a - 12:45p on MWF and 7:00a - 9:00a, 11:30a - 4:00p on TTh. It may be used on a regular basis, or as needed. For any additional hours needed, please contact the director. (For more information, please click on the Daycare link above.)
All of our classes (preschool and daycare) have one certified teacher and one assistant.
Learning Lab - Used to be Science Lab - NEW!
Learning Lab is 45 minutes of learning-fun where the children get to participate in several learning activities based on one subject (music, science, reading, math) each week. In early childhood education, the children do not often get 'extra' time that is focused on one academic subject. We created Learning Lab to expose our students to more in-depth exploration of specific subjects through engaging and fun activities in a positive setting.
Learning Lab is offered once per week for four-year olds and once per month for three-year olds on Wednesdays during the break between morning and afternoon classes. Sign up sheets are posted at each class's sign in/out podium at the beginning of each month. The lab fee is $5 per Learning Lab, or (4's only) receive a $3.00 discount per month when you sign your child up for the entire month. No refunds are given, except in the case that your child is absent from school. For more Learning Lab details, click here.
Wild Wednesdays - NEW!
Wild Wednesdays is our summer program designed to keep children involved in learning and interacting with their peers in a structured and fun setting. Parents have the option of signing up for the morning each Wednesday in June and July from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Our certified preschool and daycare teachers plan and lead each day's activities. Included in the fun are whole group and individual activities in science, math, pre-reading and writing, exploration, free play, art and music! We serve a healthy snack, mid-morning. Lunch is not served.
Wild Wednesdays is available to children who will be 3-years, 4-years, or 5-years old by December 1 of the enrolling year. Children should be potty trained. Children do not need to be enrolled at Creative Learning Campus and they do not need to be members of Community Lutheran Church. The cost is $20 per Wednesday per child and $15 per Wednesday for a second child (sibling).
