Meet the Teachers

Staff Screening and Requirements
All staff hold current certification in infant, child and adult CPR, basic first aid, and blood-borne pathogen training. All staff are required by state licensing regulations to acquire 12 clock hours of annual training in child care related issues and topics. All lead teachers are certified by the state in Early Childhood Education.
All staff are screened according to state and local licensing regulations. A criminal background check is conducted through the Michigan State Police. And upon initial hiring, all staff members are required to have a Family Independence Agency (Department of Human Services) background check. No one with a history of child abuse or neglect, or with a felony criminal history, will be employed at Creative Learning Campus.
All teachers and caregivers are trained to participate as partners in children's activities rather than merely relating to children as managers or supervisors. During the training process, emphasis is placed on positive interaction strategies: Sharing control with children, focusing on children's strengths, forming authentic relationships with children, supporting children's play ideas, and adopting a problem-solving approach to social conflict.
