Virginia has been a member of Community for twenty-four years, and full-time staff for thirteen of those years. She was an honors graduate of Concordia College, Ann Arbor, in 1985; and was Community’s first Director of Evangelism.  After pursuing a career in computers, Ginny (as she is referred to around here) returned to C.L.C. as our part-time Computer Manager…now overseeing three servers and sixteen workstations. It wasn’t long before Ginny was full-time and Director of Caring was added.  She is very knowledgeable of computers and software, but is most at home visiting the sick and praying for the needs of our people.

Ginny’s Responsibilities Include: 

·          Equip ministry coordinators to maintain our vision and purpose in every area and task by providing them with all the resources and encouragement they need.

·          Continually seek new and/or better ways to “kick it up a notch.”

·          Oversee, maintain and update computer systems.

·          Enlist the assistance of a Computer Committee to help maintain the system in good working order.

·          Maintain upgrade goals and timetables for maximum efficiency.

·          Create and maintain a system of contact and encouragement for members who are missing from worship    including cards, emails, and phone calls.

·          Teach new members Spiritual Gifts and Witness to the New Members Class.

·          Follow-up the administration of the Spiritual Gifts Discovery with an interview with all new members to plug them into appropriate ministry areas.

·          Continually seek a prayer life that reflects the Lord’s mandate to “Pray continually” (I Th. 5:17).

·          Equip, encourage and inspire others in their prayer life.

·          Create and maintain prayer ministries to reflect the philosophy that nothing is accomplished without prayer, and every Christian is called to pray.

·          Create and maintain card ministries in association with our Prayer Ministries.

·          Equip and encourage coordinators and ministers in the goals and purposes of the cookie, hospitality, and basket ministries.
