Thoughts on: FRONT LINE HOSPITALITY
This ministry is easy, exciting, and FUN! We are displaying our "love" and "warmth" even before our GUESTS reach the front doors. The members involved are having a good time, and there are even umbrellas in case it’s raining!
Just as we are Ambassadors for Christ in our daily lives, serving on Front Line Hospitality makes us "Front Line Ambassadors." When you are the first person to make contact with a guest as a "Front Liner," you are our FIRST ambassador. Since impressions can make the difference, this ministry is VERY important. Whether with words, motions, or the SMILE on your face, YOU have the FIRST opportunity to make our guests feel WELCOME. Feeling welcome is a top priority in finding a church home.
Imagine that you have invited a special friend to your home a number of times. For one reason or another, they have never come. Again you invite them, and they accept. When they pull into your driveway, of course you’d be out in the driveway to greet them - making them feel welcome and comfortable. That is what Front Line Hospitality is all about - people (God's people), making other people feel WELCOME.
Instructions and Helpful Hints
1. Arrive 30 minutes before the service begins.
2. Locate yourself in the parking lot and try to greet every person that arrives.
3. Try to identify GUESTS so you may direct them to a "Visitor" parking space located by the front doors.
4. If possible, walk them to the doors to open them, or one of you station yourself there.
5. If it is snowing or raining, be sure to escort people to the doors using the umbrellas which are located in the front entry.
6. Dress appropriately for the weather. It is difficult to give a warm welcome with frozen toes.
7. Stay in the parking lot until AFTER the service has started and everyone is inside. If a Guest is late, they REALLY need to be greeted.
A SUMMARY
Remember to bring your BEST SMILE and your WARMEST welcome. The impression you make could help someone open their heart to Jesus. Enjoy it - have a good time - it's FUN!
