COMMUNITY'S PRAYER CHAIN
The PRAYER CHAIN of Community Lutheran Church is the means by which we communicate the various needs of our community to our front-line Intercessors. God has called us to pray for one another, and to ask for all of our needs. Our Intercessors are >called out, gifted= warriors in prayer to fulfill that ministry in the Body of Christ here at Community.
PRAYER CHAIN PROCEDURES:
There are a number of ways to enter concerns for prayer.
1) Fill out one of the PRAYER REQUEST CARDS in the Community Care Folders found in the church.
2) Call the church office and ask that your request be passed on to the Intercessors.
3) Call the Chain Coordinators, MaryAnn Anderson, and Sharon Yee, and they will pass on your request.
4) When the office is closed, page Ginny Hamlett with your number, and she will call back.
(734-208-0629)
5) You can also submit a Prayer Request on our webpage.
The PRAYER CHAIN REQUEST CARDS (and the PERSONAL REQUESTS) are processed to "send the prayers" in the proper direction. They are:
Passed on to Windy, and/or Ginny, and included in the list which is distributed to all of our Intercessors, AND the Pastor and Staff (by email whenever possible).
Ginny or Windy call the Emergency Prayer Coordinators when necessary for Intercessors to begin prayer immediately. We also send this out through email to all our emergency intercessors possible.
Included in the Community Connections passed out at Worship Services, and on our webpage.
CARDS OF COMFORT AND CARE:
When the address is included on the PRAYER CHAIN REQUEST CARD it is included on the Chain List passed on to the Intercessors and to the Card Senders. We have people sending cards where addresses are included, also for those whose addresses are is our ACS system, and calls made to family or friends to acquire an address.
We use cards created in house and store cards, and we ask our card ministers to include a short personal message or greeting in each card. Some ministers send cards to those who have long-term needs and some to our shut-ins to let them know that we are continually praying for them.
CONDOLENCE CARDS
Our Condolence Card Coordinator keeps track of all the deaths that occur in our church family. A different, and specific card is sent once a month for the first six months. After that, a card is sent on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the anniversary of the death. Our Graphic Artist has created many new cards for this ministry, and they are always hand signed.
