Hospital / Shut-in / Home - Visitation
Visitation Ministers are trained individuals who visit people when they are hospitalized, home bound, or shut-in for various reasons. Because today’s hospital stays are short, speedy response time is a necessity. After receiving a call giving the name of the patient and the location, the visitation minister makes a visit. All you need to do is encourage them, pray for/with them, and tell them Pastor Dave and the church staff are praying for them. It is not necessary to stay a long time, but if it seems appropriate and you are comfortable, please feel free stay a while (not longer than 30 minutes – people who are sick need rest). A smiling face, lighthearted conversation, and especially prayer; will lift the spirits of the patient and help them to heal.
For your first (or more) visit, you should be accompanied by one of our seasoned ministers (Ginny or Patty Duperron if at all possible). We want you to be comfortable, and this is your training.
PLEASE, PLEASE let the office know that you have gone. We just need to know that visitation has taken place. If you cannot go, we will send someone else.
Patty Duperron is our Hospital Visitation Coordinator. For Homebound or Shut-in visitation, you will contacted by Ginny Hamlett. If would be very helpful to let Ginny and Patty know days or times you are or are not available.
Thank You so very much for being a part of this ministry. God’s Blessings will return to you as you Bless others.
