T.L.C. – Tender Loving Care Ministry
The people of Community Lutheran Church are a real family in God’s kingdom. When someone in the family is missing for more than a week or two, we are concerned about their physical and spiritual wellbeing. We have, therefore, put together a plan to make sure that we are caring for all the family; especially those who may be missing.
The Tender Loving Care Plan is:
After a family member is missing worship for 3 weeks a personal phone call is made by a TLC Caller. If the caller finds there is any kind of problem, the staff is notified.
After 5 weeks missing worship, a card is sent by a TLC Card Sender which tells them “We Miss You.” The sender will hand write their name and Community Lutheran Church at the bottom.
Also, the Prayer Hedge Minister for that person is notified to pray that they return to church and suggested to make a phone call.
After 7 weeks missing worship, a personal phone call by a TLC Calling Minister; is made and results reported back to Ginny and Pastor Dave.
As you can see, we try to keep in touch with those who are missing from worship with cards, phone calls and prayers. This process continues for over a year, which means we can always use more compassionate, caring people to make calls and send cards.
We also have ministries to keep in touch with our "away" members in college, military or shut-in. These members of our family are away and get to worship very seldom, so we especially need to keep in touch with them and keep them in touch with CLC.
NOTE: We can always use YOUR help to make these ministries everything they need to be.
