Creative Arts - Impact
Ministry Description
This ministry exists to encourage and equip children to become future worship leaders and worship artists. We offer classes for children in preschool through the 6th grade. The main focus of the classes is to learn how to read music and sing in age appropriate ways. However, they experiment with various ways to use all creative arts in worship. They prepare music to enhance worship and present at least one large musical service during the year. Our goal is to impact the kids’ lives through creative arts as they impact the lives of others through their offerings during worship.
Serving Opportunities
» Rehearsals - Impact meets from 5:45—6:45 p.m. each Wednesday evening from September through April or May. Beginning and end dates differ from year to year, so make sure to check a church calendar for the latest update. Classes include a lesson along with songs, activity sheets, crafts, games and lots of fun.
» Teacher’s Aide - Attend rehearsal to assist with behavior control, help with games and crafts, and encourage on a one-on-one basis (i.e., express Jesus’ love by a hug, a kind word, a smile, a word of comfort, etc.)
» Early Arriver Helper - Assist teacher and aides with crafts, games or activities for kids who arrive early for class. This doesn’t have to be weekly commitment.
» Performance Helper - Creative, artistic and/or hard worker to help with all aspects and details of performing a children’s musical. We love to involve people who like to shepherd kids, work backstage, prepare costumes, find props, build or paint a set, and so much more.
» iStore Clerk - Assist the iStore Manager while kids shop to spend their “notes.” Kids receive reward “notes” in class and can shop about once a month.
