Christian Education Ministries
Sunday School
Sunday school classes meet from 9:45 am to 10:45 am on Sunday mornings, year-round. The classes are separated by age groups into preschool, kindergarten/1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade, 4th/5th grade, Confirmation class (6th – 8th grade), high school (9th – 12th grade), and post-high school (college age). The children in the younger classes are taught using one of Group Publisher’s curriculum resources. In each grade level the children are also taught a different part of Christian theology, which builds on each previous year, in preparation for Confirmation classes.
It is so easy to be involved with the Sunday School ministry because there are so many areas to choose from. Needed are teachers, assistants and substitutes in all different grade levels, from preschool to college. The lessons are all planned, and you get to help grow the kingdom of God just by making the time for it and being you. Being a part of a child’s, or youth’s, faith growth is a blessing that can’t be described, only experienced!
Summer Programs
Summer Quest
Summer Quest (aka Vacation Bible School) is our summer ministry that includes a Bible-based extravaganza of games, food, crafts, songs, stories, fun and more fun. For one week each summer, we pull out all the stops to reach kids in our community with the love of Jesus. We are always looking for gifted people who want to share God’s message of salvation in ways that reach children.
Not Just Another Wednesday
Not Just Another Wednesday is something the entire church ‘family’ can be involved with, from the youngest children to the wisest adults. This summer ministry meets on one Wednesday during the months of June, July and August and includes dinner and dessert, exciting worship experiences, guest speakers, and Summer Quest-style activities for children and youth! We love having help from enthusiastic people who want to share God’s message of salvation in ways that reach the whole community.
Bible Studies
Home Builders
This is a ministry dedicated to building strong family units by offering marriage enrichment opportunities and parenting classes. This is Community’s proactive ministry to helping families live “happily ever after” with Jesus as their foundation for a happy home. All you need to be a part of Home Builders is a Bible, a spouse and the desire to grow in your relationships with both. You can even lead your own small group on any number of different topics. The Home Builders resource, devotional books are an awesome tool that any couple can use effectively to impact their marriage and the marriage relationships of friends or fellow church members.
Women’s Bible Study
Every Wednesday at noon, women gather in the Community Room to study God’s Word while they enjoy a brown bag lunch. The Red Hat Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month during this same time.
Men’s Bible Breakfast
The men of CLC meet once per month for breakfast, to study God’s Word and work on various projects around the church that need
attention. The meetings are held on Saturday mornings and all men are welcome. They are always looking for fellow brothers in the
faith who can contribute to the morning’s discussion and lend a helping hand.
