Sandy has been a member of Community, with John, her husband of 41 years, and her two children, since 1979. She has seen a lot of changes since the first service, which was in the Flat Rock High School Cafeteria. Sandy started serving in the area of Altar Care, spent a brief time on the Finance Committee, and served on two of the building projects. Sometime around 1982 she was asked to make a special poster and became very interested in lettering design. She took classes for calligraphy and continued at the Center For Creative Studies in design.

 

Sandy soon learned that her real interest was in the area of worship preparation. Her training and a some great creative gifts are the reason Sandy is now our Graphic Artist and our Staff Equipper for Altar Care and all decorating for special services and events.

 

Sandy’s Responsibilities Include:

 

·   Member of Worship Planning Team

·   Staff equipper for Altar Care

·   Oversee Altar Care Training

·   Run Slides for Wednesday Services

·   Member of Communications Team (advertising)

·   Design cards, brochures, flyers, and newspaper ads

·   Seasonal design and decorations for worship services

·   Create visuals for various themed worship services
