Dear Family,
If you have one or more children between the ages of preschool and third grade, this ministry is for you. Our Family Journey was created and developed by a team of four families from Community Lutheran Church. Each month we provide opportunities for families to play, pray and grow together in faith and life skills. We accomplish this through family activities, individual learning opportunities, group outings, and faith & trust in our loving God!
The OFJ team is excited to begin this journey with you in real, down-to-earth, fun and engaging family activities. After studying some alarming statistics on the role of society, the church, and parental influences in a child’s life, we are ready to rally together with you to support the families in our church and community.
Our Family Journey meets on Fridays, once per month from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Community Room. Come experience family activities and kids/adults breakouts. Every so often, we go on a Family Outing or have a special event at the church in place of a regular Friday night meeting (example: October's Pumpkin Fest). What about older or younger siblings? The activities we do at Our Family Journey are designed specifically for the ages of preschool through 3rd grade. This is their time to get together to have fun, grow and learn, while we support and encourage the parent(s), too. So, if you have a child or children younger or older than preschool age to third grade, have no worries! The "Touched 45" youth group (4th and 5th grade) meets on the same dates and at the same time as OFJ and will be experiencing activities and support for their lives as Christians on a 4th and 5th grade level. And you are welcome to bring your younger children, too. When you notify us of your need, we will staff the nursery with volunteer junior high and high school youth.
